This here post is for my homies in Halifax although if you're not in Halifax, you can read it too! If we don't know one another yet, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Lacey. I'm from Halifax, well Dartmouth really — okay scratch that, I'm from Cole Harbour.
For the past five years, I've been living in Berlin (Germany) and Perth (Australia). In between, I've travelled tons, taught workshops and retreats all over the world, and learned some really amazing ways to approach yoga.
One of these styles is called Akhanda. I studied for seven weeks in 2013 with my main teacher in Rishikesh learning this approach. Yogrishi Vishvketu (my teacher) was on the fence about naming this practice, because to him, it's just Hatha yoga. But his students wanted a name and so he gave it to them — Akhanda.
Akhanda means whole or unbroken. It is a holistic approach to yoga. It is not trendy or like super hip and new — in fact, the principles are über ancient.
